Kigali - Bush camp (middle of nowhere)

dejavou
our not so secluded bush camp. we were surrounded by 30 locals for about 2 hours the evening before.

getting black market fuel. no petrol station here my good friend. 2 USD a litre to boot.

Left pretty early in the morning to get a good day's worth of kilometers. the Rwandan roads have been the best ones to date. lovely curves, smooth tarmac, incredible switchbacks. it was so wonderful to feel the bike again and use it for what it was designed for. so much midrange power and shes goes into the corners with such ease and finesse. a real fun bike to ride. crossed the Tanzanian border and dropped my bike, again. like the 50th time i think. then rode into some thunder storms and beautiful African plains. loads of trees and incredible views. seemed like the scene from the lion king. was so happy to be on good roads and cruising. we did 500km that day and ended up camping in the bush in a secluded spot. turned out we were right next to a small village. the locals all came out and gawked and laughed at us for ages. krikey even my mattress impressed the pants off them. lovely people though. so simple and a real pleasure to be around. everyone is asking for money out here, even me.
